Two Events, One Weekend

First, let me start by thanking you. The response to our latest collection has been overwhelmingly positive. We've started to sell a few pieces here and there, and I've received innumerable texts and emails from friends and supporters telling me how much they love the clothes! Mom has been working hard to touch base with our Houston collaborators and believes as of last night that we will be able to reschedule nearly all of our events for later in the season. But if you live in or near Alexandria, there are TWO events coming up next weekend and I'd love to see you.

EVENT : The graphic above provides the details for the only shopping event on the books in Alexandria. In other words, if you're waiting to shop the collection in person, this is your only chance. We may host something closer to the holidays, but nothing has been ironed out yet. Our friends at local yoga studio Vikriya Lab have graciously agreed to host us in their beautiful and inviting space. Trust me when I tell you that if you think the clothes are pretty in pictures, they are so much more beautiful in person. EVENT : There is another opportunity to help Threads by Nomad recover from the fallout of Hurricane Harvey and it's coming up on Friday, September 15th. My friend Katie who owns AR Workshop in Alexandria offered to host a fundraiser class for Threads by Nomad. AR Workshop is a boutique DIY studio that offers hands-on classes for creating custom and charming home decor from raw materials. In fact, I was just there last night and made this:

Yep, I MADE that! And had an awesome time doing it. So, here's how this works. You sign up to make a creation of your own right here and 15% from your registration will be donated to Threads by Nomad. BUT if I can get 20 people to come, AR Workshop will donate 20% of the total registration fees to us. That money will go directly toward securing jobs for Hayder and Atia, while hopefully enabling us to bring on Akram as well--a newly arrived refugee from Iran whose husband has severe health concerns. In short, it'll be a fun night of creating and catching up, and you'll get to leave with something you made for your home while helping us keep our doors open until we get back on our feet. Woah. That's a lot of text. Who knew I could be so wordy at 530AM? Alright, I'm going to get this email sent out and I look forward to seeing your RSVPs come through. Email me for the shopping event and sign up for the AR Workshop right here. Love you guys!
