Fall 2018: The Chambray Skirt (and this week's personal shopping appointments in Alexandria)

You win some and you lose some. Mom and I have both had events bomb this month. I had to cancel one due to lack of interest, and she attended another that just ended up being a bust. It happens. In business, you have to try things even if they don't always work.

So, today, instead of running around like a mad woman picking up chairs and tables, decorating the event space, steaming clothes and styling models, I am going to make pumpkin bread, hang my fall wreath, make a from-scratch chai, and publish this blog post.

Because even though today's event was canceled, I still have ALL of our new inventory in Alexandria for another week. Every piece of our Fall 2018 collection and all of our gray t-shirt styles are on the East Coast for exactly seven more days. For those of you who would like to see our newest collection in person, try something on before purchasing, and save on shipping, I am taking personal shopping appointments as long as the collection remains in my possession. I will set up a mini-shopping station in our second bedroom and I can personally walk you through all of the new styles. And because I'm from the South and can't help myself, I will likely have something fun to drink and eat.

If we're friends on Facebook or you follow me on Instagram, send me a message. Text me if that's your preferred way to reach out. And if we've never met before, I'd still love to connect and host you; send me an email at support@threadsbynomad.com

Now, about the skirt. It is, in my opinion, the most versatile and universally flattering piece of this new collection. I attended a fall-themed work event yesterday and had to be on my feet and outdoors for about eight hours. This lightly-layered look did the trick.

Reach out if you're in the DC area and want to shop with me. In the meantime, I'm going to work on perfecting my pumpkin bread recipe!
