#RefugeesWelcome, Part One

When we started Threads by Nomad in early 2016, I thought we'd be able to launch two big collections each year and sustain our business. Pretty quickly, I realized that I was super wrong and needed to change our sales strategy. The key to online retail is instead a series of small and larger launches throughout the year to keep people's interest and garner as much attention as possible. Thus far, this approach has worked for us.

For reasons we could not predict, our fall collection will launch a few weeks later than we had originally intended. (We are aiming for the third week of September.) This unexpected change left us with six weeks of no events and no new product. Unsure we could go that long with a surge of income, Mom and I decided to follow through on a few projects that had stayed on the back-burner: yoga mat carriers and t-shirts that read . I'm excited to say that both products will be showcased for the very first time at our event on Saturday. And we only have a limited run of both items currently.

Since this didn't feel like enough new product to warrant a big launch event, I had to get creative. If you hadn't figured it out by now, I really like to partner with others. Remember? "Me AND you, not me or you." As a result, two organizations I have come to appreciate personally will join us on Saturday: Karen of Noonday Collection and Sparrow House Botanicals.

This post is getting long. I'll write more in the email I send out about this event early next week. I have quite a bit more to say (what else is new?). But for now, if you are in the DC area, please RSVP to this event. It is not a drop-in event. We have a (brief) presentation slated to start around 7:15. I want this to feel intimate. I want it to be about lifting up others even in their absence and honoring their stories and their talent. More on that later though! xoxo Christen

Oh, and PS, this is one of the two t-shirts styles (men's and women's). I'll post another outfit tomorrow wearing the gray one. Both will be $25 and the attendees of our event will have first pick!
