Article: The (hopefully temporary) end of flat rate shipping.

The (hopefully temporary) end of flat rate shipping.

Behind the scenes, we've had a few new people come on board in 2018. Two long-time (and brilliant!) family friends have joined the Threads team pro-bono as financial advisors. We've also brought on a university student as our spring semester intern. We are whipping this business into shape and are so grateful to those who are helping us do it!

As a result of these new additions, we've spent the first few weeks of the new year buried in spreadsheets and trying to understand how to improve our financial projections. One of our advisors' recommendations was to end our flat fee shipping rate and we've decided to take their advice. Starting on February 1, shipping on our website will be determined based on weight and destination.

When we first launched Threads, we really wanted to offer free shipping, but our business was just too small to cover the cost. A flat shipping rate isn't covering it either. Hopefully 2018 will be so kind to Threads that in 2019 we will be able to return to flat rate (or even offer free!) shipping.

For now though, you may want to take advantage of the flat rate and the remaining discounted items on our website before February 1. We also have new product listed just this weekend, and will hopefully be listing more before the end of the month.

Thank you for understanding and, as always, thank you for supporting Threads by Nomad.
