Custom Design Appointments
For those of you who don't know, my professional background is in marketing and branding. If I were my own branding client, I would tell me that the Threads by Nomad message is too expansive, we offer too wide a variety of goods and services, and we need to narrow our focus. From a branding perspective, a simpler message is always a more effective one.
But you know what? We have not yet reached the one-year-in-business mark; it is more important to me that at this point we provide jobs to the members of our team than that we adhere to standard branding knowledge.
It is for this reason--the provision of jobs to refugees--that in addition to the clothing and gifts and jewelry on our website we also offer custom design services. If you've seen something on our website and liked it but you'd like to adapt it to your own body type or adjust the pattern in some way, we can do that. If there is a piece in your closet you love and want more of, we can make it. If you've always dreamt of owning a specific garment but have never found it in stores, we can make that, too.
If you live in or near Alexandria, Virginia, I am opening up my home for a few hours on Sunday, July 30 for custom design appointments. We will video in my mom and our head tailor so they can consult on the pattern and so I know exactly which measurements to take. I will of course make sure you are well fed and am already creating a fun cocktail for the afternoon's events!
