These hand-crafted ornaments are made by our friend and jewelry designer, Iman. They are made of polymer clay. First, Iman uses a pasta machine to make the clay smooth then adds texture to create the design. She cuts out the shape, seals the whole piece, and bakes each one for 45 minutes.
Iman has been in the United States for almost four years. She came here with her four children from Iraq. A gynecologist by education and profession in her home country, she was not able to continue her practice after arriving in the US. Iman had always enjoyed creating jewelry. Threads by Nomad and The Off Ramp have invested in Iman's talents and we are exploring additional avenues of partnership. All proceeds from the purchase of these ornaments will go toward helping Iman develop her jewelry business.
