production has halted & we need your help
Production has halted. We were halfway through preparing our newest collection when "everything" happened. We have half-made dresses hanging in the studio that haven't been touched in seven weeks. Yes, we are still selling our current inventory on our website (and THANK YOU to those of you who have shopped with us online!!) but we had to close our studio and furlough our staff back in mid-March.
The good news? The Off Ramp, our parent non-profit, stepped in with a solution. For nearly two months, The Off Ramp has paid our team members as contractors to make non-medical grade masks from home. These masks are then sold at cost and sometimes below (nope, we are not taking a profit) to organizations and groups where the need is greatest—youth services, homeless shelters, refugee camps at the border, etc. The Off Ramp has ensured that our staff has income until Threads by Nomad can "open its doors" again. We have not had to close permanently and can still maintain our website and continue selling our inventory because of The Off Ramp. The reality is that Threads by Nomad would not have made it this far into the crisis without it.
Tomorrow is #GivingTuesdayNow and The Off Ramp is hoping to raise $5,000. Threads by Nomad depends upon The Off Ramp's ability to fundraise successfully on this day. We ask that you consider supporting The Off Ramp tomorrow if you are able.
There are two ways to donate:
1. You can donate easily online right here.
2. Or you can text "GIVE" to 833.977.0559.
It may sound trite, but it remains true: we can't do this, any of this, without you and every donation makes a difference. Thank you for following us, shopping with us, and being our community.
